America just finished celebrating its independence day. But did you know that FIVE other countries also celebrate their independence day in July? July 1 – Canada. July 9 – Argentina. July 14 – French Bastille Day. July 23 – Egypt Revolution day. Juy 28 – Peru.
Just like 4th of July in America, banks will be closed and locals will be traveling. It can be fun to experience a holiday in another country, but it can also slow you down. We didn’t know about the holidays in Malaysia when we visited. We flew in to Kuala Lumpur four days before the week-long holiday at the end of Ramadan. Travel was booked out – and it limited our choices of when and where to go.
Traveling on or near holidays can be difficult, limit options, or simply just be more expensive. But knowing what holidays are happening isn’t always easy. Or is it?
Well – to the rescue is the website: TimeAndDate.com
. They have Holidays and Observances for every country in the world.
We now check for holidays before we travel to a country. Just in case we are hitting a big one, we want to know, so we can adjust our travel dates accordingly.
