Travel Talk & Swap

At this travel event we will swap travel stories, tips, AND stuff. Who doesn’t end up with travel books, gear, clothes, whatnot that they no longer need? Bring them to this event and pass them on. You will also get to look at what is there and take something home you could use. And, of course, there will be plenty of time to sit and chat with other travelers. All globally minded or travel curious people welcome.

We will be gathering at Laurelhurst Park (exact location sent in confirmation email) in east Portland. To beat the summer heat, we will be meeting at 11am. The plan is to snag an area in the shade. Do bring whatever you enjoy drinking (coffee, tea, juice, soda, water, etc.) and a snack if you want. Also bring a lawn chair and perhaps a sunhat. No worries if you can’t arrive on time or stay for the entire event. Come for what you can. We are a relaxed group of travelers.

This Travel Talk is FREE to attend. Please RSVP by claiming a free ticket. That gives us an idea of how much space we need and a way to send out exact details. If after getting a ticket you find out you can’t attend, please let me know. It really does help to have an accurate headcount. At the event donations will be accepted. They are appreciated as there are costs to organizing any travel gathering.

We will follow Oregon Covid-19 protocols that may be in place when we meet, currently there are none. Multnomah County Public Health does recommend voluntary indoor making and that people get a Covid-19 vaccine/booster. Please be courteous of other travelers, do not come if you have Covid, flu, or cold symptoms. By registering for this event, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending this event, you and any of your guests assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19 and agree not to hold Wild Spirit Travel, Shyla or Dan Bare, or event volunteers liable for any illness, sickness, hospitalization, or injury that may arise from the event.
